- In this course, we will learn about recent algorithm development and Bioinformatics analysis for microbial genomics and metagenomics (why we care about metagenomics in the classroom).
- The same seminar course was taught two years ago. You may check the old webpage of the course to get a rough idea about what will be covered in this course, and read about the relevant papers that were included!
- The instructor will give introductions to microbial genomics and metagenomics in the first few weeks. Then the students will be presenting recent articles that are published in the past two years, and some "classic" papers in metagenomics.
Selected topics include but not limited to
comparative analysis of microbial genomes, functional annotations, biological pathway analysis, comparative metagenomics of microbial communities, species complexity analysis of metagenomics data.
